Job summary

The Northern Trust Company is seeking a Sr. Portfolio Banker for Global Family Office in the United States. The role centers on providing credit and banking services to Global Family Office clients and expanding relationships with high-value banking clients.

You will negotiate complex loan agreements and coordinate cross-functional delivery of client service. You will cultivate relationships with GFO Wealth Strategists, manage complex banking and treasury relationships, and guide terms, pricing,

Qualifications

• 5–7 years in financial analysis, credit underwriting, or commercial lending with emphasis on fund/investment financing.
• Ability to lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.
• Advanced knowledge of the banking industry, competition and financing, usually from formal education and experience.
• Knowledge of investments including Private Equity and Hedge Funds, and trust structures to create proper loan terms.
• Skills in negotiation, leadership and sales to develop client and prospect relationships.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Highly adaptable to change in high-demand environments.
• Interprets business challenges and recommends best practices to improve risk mitigation, processes or services.

Responsibilities

• Assist in cultivating new relationships with GFO Wealth Strategists and Relationship teams and develop marketing strategies for prospects and clients.
• Manage complex GFO banking, credit and treasury relationships and identify opportunities outside banking in investments, fiduciary and deposits.
• Structure and negotiate complex loan agreements per Credit Policy guidelines.
• Analyze and negotiate loan terms including pricing, covenants, rates, collateral, and swaps.
• Prepare documentation for financing agreements and closing.
• Advise clients on Goals Driven Wealth Management.
• Generate leads through COIs and expand COI network.
• Provide leadership and guidance to team and partners at a high technical level.
• Balance high-level execution with development and client service.
• Interact with committees and management; drive strategic programs.
• Lead teams to solve complex credit problems.
