Job summary

National Grid in the United States is seeking a US Facilities Management & Support Services Category Manager reporting to the Head of Category & Procurement Business Partner. You will develop and implement category strategies for the US and UK portfolios, leading a cross-regional team to drive value, service quality, compliance and supply chain resilience.

You will shape demand profiles, assess market dynamics, oversee sourcing and contract management, and ensure governance across regions.

Qualifications

• Extensive category management experience across Facilities Management, Real Estate or related indirect-services.
• Proven ability to lead cross-regional teams and recruit/onboard staff.
• Strong analytical skills translating spend and supplier data into category choices.
• Experience with governance, risk and regulatory considerations in US/UK contexts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refresh category strategies for US/UK Facilities Management and Support Services.
• Create category plans reflecting regional needs and cross-regional opportunities.
• Define category scope, demand, supply-market dynamics and risks.
• Translate strategies into sourcing and contract-management plans with clear outcomes.
• Lead the sourcing delivery portfolio with governance and ownership.
• Provide commercial direction across tendering, negotiation, contracting and award.
• Assure outputs are robust and decision-ready.
• Lead strategic supplier engagement to improve performance and drive innovation.
• Develop and mentor a geographically dispersed team across US & UK.
• Recruitment and onboarding for vacancies within the team.
