Job summary

Partners In Health (PIH) is seeking an External Relations Manager in Boston to lead a small team and advance PIH's external relations strategy. You will amplify PIH's brand messaging, coordinate with the PR agency, and help showcase PIH's accomplishments on global health issues.

The role reports to the Senior Director of External Relations and focuses on media outreach, spokesperson readiness, and thought leadership across domestic and international audiences.

Qualifications

• Six years of experience in communications, external relations, or similar role, preferably within global health.
• Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to manage media relations, strategy development, and executive communications.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with journalists and coordinate with PIH's PR agency to place stories.
• Monitor media landscape and advance PIH narratives through press materials and interviews.
• Coordinate op-eds and support advocacy storytelling for policy goals.
• Lead annual event planning, messaging, and spokesperson readiness.
• Provide training for PIH spokespeople and maintain training resources.
• Oversee relationship with the PR agency and manage rapid responses.
• Develop and mentor the External Relations Associate.
