Job summary

Astellas is seeking an External Corporate Communications Specialist to support the execution of our global external communications strategy. You will collaborate across functions to strengthen our corporate reputation through media relations, digital channels and governance-aligned messaging.

In this hybrid US-based role, you will help manage press materials, social content and analytics, ensuring clear, accurate communication that resonates with diverse audiences and maintains regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Digital Media or related field.

Responsibilities

• Support external media relations strategy, including proactive and reactive media engagement.
• Coordinate responses to media enquiries and support development of press releases, statements, Q&A, fact sheets.
• Research media opportunities and support press events, briefings, interviews and corporate announcements.
• Maintain media lists and monitor journalist, industry and competitive activity.
• Support corporate social media and digital communications strategy, including content development, scheduling, publishing and community management.
• Develop content across social, web and other digital channels with stakeholders and agencies.
• Support corporate website content management, ensuring accuracy and alignment with messaging.
• Monitor media/digital performance and provide analytics insights.
• Support SEO, AEO and GEO best practices to improve visibility.
• Identify reputational issues and assist in crisis communications playbooks.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external agencies to deliver integrated programmes.
• Ensure activities comply with governance, legal, regulatory and compliance requirements.
