Job summary

Elastic is seeking a Senior Director of Global External Communications to lead how we build reputation, relevance, and influence with external audiences across corporate, technical, regional, and public sector domains.

You will translate Elastic's technical narratives into compelling stories for CIOs, CISOs, CTOs, IT leaders, and media, moving beyond traditional PR toward an always-on communications engine.

Qualifications

• Significant senior leadership experience in external or corporate communications within enterprise technology, cloud, data, AI, or security.
• Strong technical fluency and ability to engage with product/engineering leaders on complex concepts.
• Proven ability to translate technical narratives for IT decision-makers, media, and executive audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead Elastic's global external communications strategy across corporate, business, technical, and regional audiences.
• Translate technical innovation into compelling stories for CIOs, CISOs, CTOs, IT leaders, and media.
• Oversee specialist technology communications teams and partner with product, PMM, engineering, and marketing.
• Build an always-on earned influence engine with thought leadership, proof, and analyst/partner collaboration.
• Lead global and regional communications, ensuring alignment with regional markets and global priorities.
