Qualifications

• B.S. or B.A. degree required.
• 2 years of experience in customer service/export shipping or 7–10 years of applicable business experience.
• Ability to work with automated customer service and sales systems, including database systems.
• Knowledge of US Customs/ Department of Commerce export regulatory law.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills in an operations environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare export orders and related shipping documentation.
• Monitor changes in export/import regulations to ensure prompt clearance.
• Coordinate freight forwarders and carriers to balance cost and service.
• Expedite orders for lifesaving shipments and coordinate with departments.
• Prepare proforma invoices and maintain pricing categories for exports.
• Process standard shipments, including dry ice and hazmat, with IATA compliance.
• Estimate freight costs for bids and outbound invoices.
• Communicate with foreign consulates for document legalization.
• Inform customers about product specs, shipping, status, and claims.
• Develop contingency plans for unusual shipping disruptions.
• Collaborate on special labeling for government tender requirements.
• Advise management on delays and coordinate cross-department problem solving.
• Maintain country information manuals for air/ocean/parcel shipments.
