Job summary

Grifols, S.A. in Research Triangle Park (NC) seeks a shipping/export specialist to manage international orders, documentation, and compliance. You will coordinate with freight forwarders, prepare invoices, and ensure timely clearance with customs while handling special goods and regulated materials.

The role requires bilingual abilities (French preferred), strong communication, and experience with export regulations. This is a hybrid in-office/remote position based in the US.

Qualifications

• B.S./B.A. degree required.
• 2 years in customer service/export shipping or 7–10 years related experience.
• Experience with automated customer service and sales systems.
• Knowledge of US export regulations (US Customs/Dept of Commerce).
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities in operations/distribution.

Responsibilities

• Prepare export orders and related shipping documentation, backing up colleagues during absences.
• Monitor foreign export/import regulations to ensure prompt customs clearance.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders to minimize costs and optimize delivery schedules.
• Expedite lifesaving shipments and coordinate with relevant departments for fast handling.
• Prepare proforma invoices using pricing categories and terms of sale.
• Process standard shipments, including dry ice and hazardous materials, in compliance with IATA rules.
• Prepare freight cost estimates for bids and quotes; issue pro-forma invoices to customers.
• Communicate with foreign consulates for document legalization and with customers on orders and shipping.
• Establish contingency plans for unusual shipping situations in collaboration with management.
• Assist with product labeling requirements for tenders and letters of credit.
• Inform area sales managers of significant delays and help resolve issues impacting shipments.
• Collaborate with other departments to prevent delays and maintain service levels.
• Maintain country information manuals for parcel post, ocean/air freight, and other shipments.
