Strong legal/compliance background required with 5+ years in export compliance. The role emphasizes audits, risk assessment, and strategic advisory for cross-border transactions, including M&A and overseas

Qualifications

• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in law, international business, compliance, or related field with 5+ years in export compliance.
• EAR Expertise: In-depth knowledge of EAR, ECCN classification, deemed exports, and licensing.
• Technical Acumen: Read complex technical specs to classify tech without engineering training.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to conduct risk assessments, audits, and red-flag reviews.
• Preferred Qualifications: NCT regulatory expertise with MOTIE; bilingual in Korean and English.

Responsibilities

• Export Control & Regulatory Filings: Manage day-to-day U.S. export compliance per EAR.
• Licensing & Classification: Review export docs, manage ECCNs, TCPs.
• NCT MOTIE Approvals: Handle MOTIE paperwork before export or sharing with foreign entities.
• Funding Declarations: Obtain MOTIE approvals if tech used Korean funding; file declarations if privately funded.
• Technology Classification & Internal Security: Audit IP, R&D, manufacturing; enforce protected zones.
• Cross-Border Transactions: Advise on M&A, joint ventures, overseas plants.
• Risk Mitigation: Ensure tech transfers comply with ITA to avoid penalties.
