Job summary

BDO is seeking a Senior Manager to lead taxation for equity compensation, deferred compensation, and related areas including 162(m), 280G analyses, ASC 718/740, payroll taxes, and qualified plans. You will research compensation planning, prepare client memos, and supervise GES Managers on engagements.

The role requires strong communication, mentoring, and collaboration with tax and audit teams to serve firm clients across the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; focus in Accounting, preferred.
• Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation, preferred.
• Eight (8) or more years of experience in compensation & benefits, required.
• CPA certification or JD, preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Access, Excel and Word, preferred.
• Exposure to tax research tools such as RIA, CCH, BNA and Lexis-Nexis, preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, specifically tax technical writing.
• Solid organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Executes client deliverables related to compensation & benefits tax topics and prepares memos.
• Researches compensation planning and executive compensation models.
• Communicates with clients both verbally and in writing; maintains professional presence.
• Supervises tax GES Managers and below; trains on tax software and proprietary applications.
• Collaborates with general tax and audit teams to provide compensation & benefits assistance.
