Job summary

The U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) seeks an Environmental and Social Risk Analyst in Washington, DC.

You will evaluate projects for environmental and social impacts, applying IFC Performance Standards and UN/OECD guidelines to assess sustainability performance across debt, insurance, equity, or financial intermediaries. Eligibility requirements include GS-11/12/13 level experience and a background in international sustainability topics.

Qualifications

• Experience conducting research or analysis on environmental and social sustainability topics in an international context.
• Experience analyzing and applying international frameworks or standards related to environmental and social sustainability and performance (IFC/UN/OECD).
• Experience supporting environmental and social impact assessments of private investments against international standards like IFC Performance Standards.
• Experience identifying environmental and social risks in investments and proposing mitigation and management measures to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental and social risk assessments for DFC projects in the portfolio.
• Identify and apply international frameworks (IFC, UN, OECD) to evaluate sustainability performance.
• Analyze and evaluate private investments against international standards and recommended mitigations.
• Collaborate with teams to propose risk mitigation and management strategies to leadership.
