Job summary

Milwaukee Tool in Brookfield, WI seeks a Project Leader to manage moderately complex engineering projects with minimal direction. You will guide technical direction, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure timely implementation.

This role requires strong leadership, hands-on engineering aptitude, 10-15% travel, and ability to work in fast-paced environment. You will partner with Marketing, Operations, Quality, and Suppliers to deliver conforming products.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years engineering experience in related field.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering required.
• Proven success in mass-produced product design.
• Experience managing multiple complex NPD projects.
• Strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes for hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership over multiple moderately complex projects.
• Give direction, guidance and engineering expertise to local and global team members.
• Review work of designers, engineers and other project team members.
• Develop and maintain schedules, agendas, facilitates and documents project meetings.
• Track project schedule to ensure adherence to timelines.
• Regularly make presentations of project status to executives.
• Coordinate project planning efforts for low to moderate complexity projects.
• Identify critical path tasks and project risks with moderate supervision.
• Frame up technical tradeoff discussions with Marketing and other cross functional team members.
• Exercise effective scheduling development work to meet overall project milestones.
• Ensure effective communication with cross functional international team as well as management team.
• Identify possible design/manufacturing hurdles to manufacture product.
• Work with Operations, Quality, and Suppliers to confirm delivery of conforming products.
• Motivate cross functional team to work toward, and accomplish, project objectives.
• Maintain focus of project team on cost, performance and schedule.
• Potential for supervisory responsibilities, input for performance appraisals for Engineering and cross functional project team members.
