Micron Technology, Inc. seeks a GEL Equipment Maintenance Technician to monitor, sustain, and improve equipment in a dynamic manufacturing environment. The role collaborates with Shift Operations, area equipment engineers, and tool vendors to ensure optimal tool performance and maintenance.

You will work with a team focused on equipment availability, process improvements, and maintaining a safe, contamination-free environment while adhering to PPE requirements and safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, or Robotics or 2 years of equipment maintenance experience.
  • 4 years of experience in preventative maintenance and repair of industrial machinery.
  • 4 years of using mechanical, electronic, and PC/software skills to fix equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members to address preventative maintenance needs and safety concerns.
  • Identify performance gaps and implement improvements while documenting deviations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cleanroom or lab area per protocols.
  • Lead projects to improve equipment availability, scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Attend training to improve understanding of semiconductor tools.

Job Summary

Micron is seeking a highly motivated GEL Equipment Maintenance Technician to monitor, sustain, and improve equipment in their assigned area. This position requires collaboration with Shift Operations team members, area equipment engineers, and tool vendors to ensure efficient tool performance and maintenance in a dynamic, new technology and manufacturing environment. GEL Equipment Maintenance Technicians support processing at the forefront of innovation for the world’s leading memory and storage solution provider, Micron Technology. Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate and address preventative maintenance needs for manufacturing equipment performance, while proactively identifying and resolving safety concerns.
  • Identify performance gaps and implement strategic improvements, while documenting hardware and process deviations to help prevent recurring problems in tool functionality.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the cleanroom or lab area by adhering to housekeeping protocols, ensuring that every item is properly stored and organized.
  • Participate in teams focused on enhancing equipment availability and implementing improvement initiatives.
  • Attend Micron and/or vendor training to improve understanding of various semiconductor tools.
  • Stand for long periods, walk several miles per shift, lift 50 lbs occasionally, and perform tasks requiring bending, crouching, or kneeling while navigating safely over uneven terrain or within confined spaces to perform job duties effectively.
  • Maintain situational awareness to identify hazards promptly, and consistently wear required PPE (cleanroom garments) to protect product quality and maintain a safe, contamination‑free environment.
  • Work and lead projects related to manufacturing equipment maintenance and improvement, with an emphasis on fulfilling scope, schedule, and budget expectations.
Minimum Requirements
  • Associate degree in relevant technical fields such as Mechatronics, Electronics, or Robotics and/or 2 years of experience in maintaining manufacturing equipment, automation, and/or technical military experience.
  • Ability to work 12‑hour shifts (3 days on/4 days off and 4 days on/3 days off), progress between day and night shifts every 4 months, and adapt to different shifts and overtime as needed to support business operations.
  • 4 years of experience performing preventative maintenance and repair of industrial machinery, ensuring minimal downtime, and maintaining industrial equipment, automation.
  • 4 years of experience in using mechanical, electronic, and PC/software (Windows/Linux) skills to fix and resolve manufacturing equipment issues.
  • 4 years’ experience maintaining manufacturing equipment, automation, and/or technical military experience.
Preferred Requirements
  • 6+ years’ experience in maintaining manufacturing equipment, automation, and/or technical military experience.
  • 6+ years’ experience in leading projects related to manufacturing equipment maintenance and improvement, with a focus on meeting scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
  • Over 6 years of experience in performing preventative maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment, minimizing downtime, and maintaining industrial and automated systems.
  • Experience and/or interest in developing Agentic AI workflows into current or future processes.
