Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. in Boise, Idaho seeks a Global Engineering Lab (GEL) Equipment Maintenance Technician to monitor, sustain and improve semiconductor tooling in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

You will collaborate with Shift Operations, area equipment engineers and vendors to ensure optimal tool performance, perform preventive maintenance, document deviations and lead improvement initiatives to maximize availability while maintaining safety.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 2 years of experience maintaining manufacturing equipment, automation, or related field.
• 4 years of experience performing preventative maintenance and repair of industrial machinery.
• 4 years’ experience using mechanical, electronic, and PC/software (Windows/Linux) to fix equipment issues.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime.
• Identify performance gaps and implement improvements while documenting deviations.
• Collaborate with team members to address maintenance needs and safety concerns.

Global Engineering Lab (GEL) Equipment Maintenance Technician

Micron is seeking a highly motivated GEL Equipment Maintenance Technician to monitor, sustain, and improve equipment in their assigned area. This position requires collaboration with Shift Operations team members, area equipment engineers, and tool vendors to ensure efficient tool performance and maintenance in a dynamic, new technology and manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members and communicate and address preventative maintenance needs for manufacturing equipment performance, while proactively identifying and resolving safety concerns.
• Identify performance gaps and implement strategic improvements, while documenting hardware and process deviations to help prevent recurring problems in tool functionality.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the cleanroom or lab area by adhering to housekeeping protocols, ensuring that every item is properly stored and organized.
• Participate in teams focused on enhancing equipment availability and implementing improvement initiatives.
• Attend Micron and/or vendor training to improve understanding of various semiconductor tools.
• Stand for long periods, walk several miles per shift, lift 50 lbs occasionally, and perform tasks requiring bending, crouching, or kneeling while navigating safely over uneven terrain or within confined spaces to perform job duties effectively.
• Maintain situational awareness to identify hazards promptly, and consistently wear required PPE (e.g., cleanroom garments) to protect product quality and maintain a safe, contamination-free environment.
• Work and lead projects related to manufacturing equipment maintenance and improvement, with an emphasis on fulfilling scope, schedule, and budget expectations.

Minimum Requirements

• Associate degree in relevant technical fields such as Mechatronics, Electronics, or Robotics and/or 2 years of experience in maintaining manufacturing equipment, automation, and/or technical military experience.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts (3 days on/4 days off and 4 days on/3 days off), progress between day and night shifts every 4 months, and adapt to different shifts and overtime as needed to support business operations.
• 4 years of experience performing preventative maintenance and repair of industrial machinery, ensuring minimal downtime, and maintaining industrial equipment, automation.
• 4 years of experience in using mechanical, electronic, and PC/software (Windows/Linux) skills to fix and resolve manufacturing equipment issues.
• 4 years’ experience maintaining manufacturing equipment, automation, and/or technical military experience.

Preferred Requirements

• 6+ years’ experience in maintaining manufacturing equipment, automation, and/or technical military experience.
• 6+ years’ experience in leading projects related to manufacturing equipment maintenance and improvement, with a focus on meeting scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
• Over 6 years of experience in performing preventative maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment, minimizing downtime, and maintaining industrial and automated systems.
• Experience and/or interest in developing Agentic AI workflows into current or future processes.
