Job summary

Spokane Colleges is seeking a dedicated program manager to oversee global education retention and study abroad initiatives. Responsibilities include managing international student support, immigration compliance, and pre-/post-arrival processes, ensuring successful enrollment and student satisfaction.

The role collaborates with deans, faculty, and the Career Center to align program development, course credit, and risk management, while engaging with housing providers and partners for student

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent mix of education and experience demonstrates competency requirements.
• Two years or more of higher education retention experience, study abroad experience, or international student services experience.
• Knowledge of immigration rules and regulations.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally for conferences and WCCCSA.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Ability to work occasional evenings.
• MS Office suite proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher).
• Ability to organize multiple work assignments with competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to promote international student retention and academic success.
• Serve as Designated School Official (DSO) and primary contact for international students on immigration matters.
• Monitor enrollment and student progress to identify risks and provide outreach and referrals.
• Support housing, financial, cultural, and other barriers affecting student success.
• Provide coaching, planning, and resource navigation for students facing challenges.
• Support international students through pre-arrival, orientation, enrollment, and employment processes.
• Coordinate study abroad program development, including proposal review and program evaluation.
• Manage study abroad admissions, promotions, and partnerships; coordinate with academic leadership on course equivalencies and credit.
• Maintain documentation in student information systems and ensure FERPA/SEVIS compliance.
