Job summary

Gentherm Incorporated in the United States seeks a Senior Director, Division Controller to lead accounting for a major business unit across 30+ locations in 13 countries. You will drive close processes, enforce GAAP and SOX controls, and collaborate with tax, treasury, internal audit, and external auditors to ensure accurate financial reporting.

You will mentor a large finance team, optimize processes, and partner with division leadership to sustain operational excellence and growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Certified Public Accountant.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership roles.
• Experience within a publicly traded company or large multinational organization.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX compliance.
• Experience managing financial close and internal controls.
• Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead all divisional accounting activities and serve as the principal accounting authority for the division which operates in more than 30 locations, in 13 countries.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC requirements, company accounting policies, and internal control standards. Also, support global teams to ensure compliance with local requirements.
• Review and approve significant accounting transactions, estimates, reserves, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Partner with Corporate Accounting on external reporting, technical accounting matters, and implementation of new accounting standards.
• Partner with Internal Audit and external auditors on audits, testing, and remediation of audit findings.
• Lead efforts to optimize financial processes and systems.
• Lead, develop, and mentor finance and accounting staff within the division.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional development.
• Build organizational capabilities to support business growth and operational excellence.
