Job summary

Gentherm Incorporated in the United States seeks a Senior Director, Division Controller to lead divisional accounting operations across 30+ locations in 13 countries, ensuring accurate financial reporting.

You will drive monthly, quarterly, and annual closes, uphold U.S. GAAP and SOX compliance, and mentor a 75+ person finance team, partnering with the VP of Finance and external auditors. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on process improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• CPA certification is required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership roles.
• Experience within a publicly traded company or large multinational organization.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX compliance.
• Experience managing financial close and internal controls.
• Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead all divisional accounting activities for the division which operates in 30+ locations across 13 countries.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes with timely reporting.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC requirements, and internal control standards.
• Review and approve significant accounting transactions, estimates, reserves, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Partner with Corporate Accounting on external reporting and new accounting standards implementations.
• Collaborate with Internal Audit and external auditors on audits and remediation of findings.
• Lead efforts to optimize financial processes and systems.
• Lead, develop, and mentor finance staff within the division.
• Foster accountability and cross-functional collaboration for operational excellence.
• Build capabilities to support business growth and reporting efficiency.
