Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Director of Engineering for the Platform IAM team within the Cloud Technology Group. You will scale a global engineering organization to deliver massive-scale, feature-rich IAM systems with low latency.

You will manage mentoring, drive the technical roadmap, oversee end-to-end SDLC, and translate business vision into concrete milestones while collaborating with other teams.

Qualifications

• 15 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or its equivalent.
• Extensive experience leading large, distributed software engineering teams with a track record of delivering innovative software products.
• Deep understanding of the IAM ecosystem.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with a proven track record of aligning remote, global teams.

Responsibilities

Join our Akamai Platform IAM team! The Platform IAM team is part of Akamai's Cloud Technology Group. We design and operate customer-facing platforms enabling customers to configure and control their delivery, security, and cloud assets. This team owns the IAM tool sets for Akamai's customers using the Akamai Control Center website and the Cloud Manager website. We ensure customers have what they need to configure users for quality, safety, and performance.

As the Director of Engineering, you will be in a high-impact, global leadership role responsible for steering the engineering strategy, architecture, and execution of Akamai's IAM platform. This leader will scale a high-performing, globally distributed engineering organization to deliver massive-scale, feature-rich, and performant IAM systems.

As the Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for:

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $203,600 - $366,400/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
