Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Director of Engineering for the Platform IAM team to lead a global, multidisciplinary group of managers, engineers, and architects.

You will drive the technical roadmap, ensure scalable, low-latency AuthZ, oversee the SDLC, and partner with cross-functional teams to turn business vision into milestones. This role supports flexible work arrangements (remote, hybrid, or on-site) in the United States.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant experience in software engineering and leadership.
• Strong understanding of IAM ecosystems and security concepts.

Responsibilities

• Manage mentoring and grow a large, global team of managers, software engineers, and architects.
• Drive the technical roadmap for the IAM platform to be scalable, resilient, and low-latency.
• Oversee end-to-end SDLC to meet quality, safety, and performance standards.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business vision into technical milestones.
