The Director of Engineering at Grace, a global leader in catalysts and engineered materials, provides global leadership for engineering, capital project development, and governance across manufacturing and growth platforms. The role oversees budgets, sets standards, and serves as technical authority on strategic initiatives and plant operations.

The preferred location is Columbia, MD, with Houston, TX as an alternate consideration; travel is up to 15% and responsibilities span regions globally.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related degree.
• 20+ years of progressive engineering/manufacturing experience in chemicals, refining, catalysts, petrochemicals, specialty materials, or industrial manufacturing.
• Demonstrated success leading major capital programs
• Deep expertise in process safety management, process safety expertise, and manufacturing support.
• Travel up to 15%, including international travel

Responsibilities

• Provide global engineering leadership across manufacturing and growth platforms.
• Oversee capital projects from concept through commissioning and start-up with governance oversight.
• Establish and enforce engineering standards, design guides, and execution practices.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing sites addressing safety, reliability, quality, and capacity challenges.
• Lead cross-functional engagement with R&D, Operations, EHS, Supply Chain, and Finance to align with business strategy.
