Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Principle Financial Analyst – Global Development Finance in Santa Clara, CA. You will lead FP&A for Product Development, Analytical Chemistry, and pipeline analysis, directing cost centers, headcount, and performance reporting across multiple departments.

You will model financial scenarios, manage month-end close, and develop dashboards to measure productivity and KPI performance. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential in a global, matrixed environment.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree or equivalent experience in Finance or Accounting.
• 8+ years' experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A) or equivalent.
• Strong Excel skills and enterprise system skills.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards.
• Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse environment.
• Ability to lead projects and influence others in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong verbal and written communications across multiple levels.

Responsibilities

• Support Franchise Product Development and strategic planning forecast of pipeline analysis.
• Facilitate Franchise quarterly LBE process with the R&D groups.
• Provide allocated program headcount and cost analysis for portfolio prioritization decisions.
• Own franchise cost center’s month end close for compliance with policies.
• Prepare monthly close package with spending performance and variance analysis.
• Model alternative financial scenarios and conduct NPV/IRR analyses for new opportunities.
• Lead headcount allocation for Product Development, Quality, Ops, Regulatory.
• Publish dashboards to track program performance and KPI trends.
• Identify non-routine process improvements and drive implementation.
• Mentor less experienced staff and participate in project goals.
