Job summary

The Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF) seeks a bold, systems-minded Director of Development to build the relationships, infrastructure, and strategy behind its life‑saving fundraising worldwide. This hybrid role blends donor relationship management with operational leadership.

Reporting to the Chief Impact Officer, you will manage mid-level donors, upgrade giving, and work with cross-functional teams to drive integrated strategies for individual and institutional fundraising.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of nonprofit fundraising and development experience.
• Track record of closing gifts at the 5-figure level; 6-figure gifts a plus.
• Experience managing donor relationships and fundraising portfolios, especially mid-level/individual donors.
• Familiarity with donor databases/CRMs and development operations, including tracking and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage and steward a portfolio of mid-level individual donors, growing engagement and upgrading giving.
• Oversee development operations, including CRM management, reporting, and gift processing with Finance.
• Lead a small development team and collaborate with philanthropy, partnerships, and communications to align fundraising with strategy.
