Job summary

Ford Motor Company's Global Design Delivery Project Manager role leads governance, timing, and cross-functional alignment for appearance approvals across Ford's vehicle programs, shaping design quality and decision cadence from concept to launch.

The candidate partners with Global Design, Engineering, Program, Marketing, and Manufacturing to identify risks, manage milestones, and ensure executives have timely data to approve key design milestones; this leadership role is hybrid with four onsite

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in industrial design, transportation design, mechanical engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in project management, program management, product development, or business operations.
• Ability to manage complex cross-functional work with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with executive leaders.
• Familiarity with vehicle development processes and GPDS milestones.
• Experience narrowing product scope and facilitating decisions on complex products, including ELT decision-making forums.
• Big-picture mindset and passion for innovative, breakthrough products.
• Experience with Design, Engineering, Product Development organizations.
• Familiarity with Design studio procedures and appearance development and approval processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Global Design Studio Appearance Approval governance process, including Design Quality Operating System, presentation templates, strategy, cadence, executive reviews, documentation, and follow-through on decisions.
• Partner with Design leadership to define approval pathways, decision points, roles and responsibilities and escalation mechanisms across all Global programs.
• Create, updates and manage agendas and outcomes for all Global Studio executive presentations/events.
• Manage and integrate Design timing, milestones, deliverables and approval requirements across all vehicle programs.
• Create space for Design input into cross-functional program timing and ensure recommendations incorporate Design requirements.
• Plan and facilitate senior-level Appearance Approval forums with clear context, recommendations, risks, and decisions.
• Represent Global Design in cross-functional governance forums and ensure Design perspectives are embedded in processes and plans.
• Ensure Global Design Studio enrollment in recommended processes and templates.
• Develop and maintain lookahead visibility of key Design milestones and approvals to support leadership decisions.
• Continuously improve Design governance and delivery processes to simplify workflows and improve decision velocity.
