Job summary

A. M. Castle & Co. seeks a Demand Planning Specialist to manage global inventory planning, forecast accuracy, and data-driven improvements. You will generate demand plans, analyze data, and coordinate with Commercial and Global Supply teams to optimize inventory across regions.

The role emphasizes KPI dashboards, S&OP meetings, and continuous improvement of forecasting and inventory management systems. Office-based in Carol Stream with regional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
• Three years of demand planning, inventory planning or related experience.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to develop and manage key reports utilizing Business Intelligence tools or similar.
• Ability to develop new ideas in order to improve inventory forecasting, planning and management solutions.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a cross-functional environment.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems.
• Demonstrated team or project leadership experience.
• Proficient in use of Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Enables achievement of overall business and supply chain goals via demand plans and forecast accuracy improvements.
• Performs advanced data analysis and creates reporting to support Demand Planning and Analytics teams.
• Leads collaborative forecast and inventory planning meetings (S&OP) with business partners.
• Proposes and maintains adjustments to forecast and inventory targets based on demand/market trends.
• Optimizes inventory levels by setting planning parameters and sourcing rules.
• Supports creation and revision of internal material specs, BOMs and routings.
• Maintains data integrity using DI inconsistency reports.
• Supports cross-functional projects for productivity, inventory turns, lead times and profitability.
