Job summary

Coastal Pacific Food Distributors is seeking a highly organized Category Manager for Deli Operations. You will lead strategic sourcing and category management for Deli and Prepared Foods, across multiple commissaries abroad and domestically.

The role requires 5+ years of retail or commercial experience, strong analytics, and a proven track record in driving profitability. You will manage pricing, promotions, assortments, vendor relations, and annual budgeting.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience may be substituted.
Minimum 5 years of relevant retail or commercial experience in category management, merchandising or buying.
Strong analytical skills and track record in driving sales growth, margins, and supplier negotiations.

Responsibilities

Determine appropriate product assortment based on category strategies.
Seek and select new products and suppliers and negotiate costs.
Create and implement a promotional calendar by category and track results (sales, profit, share).
Develop merchandising and promotion plans and manage pricing to stay competitive.
Review category financials (P&L) and ensure budgets are achieved; meet sales and margin targets.
Maintain store inventory within company standards and report discrepancies.
Travel domestically and internationally as needed.
