Job summary
Bitpanda in Vienna is seeking a senior data protection leader to define and execute the global data protection strategy for the Bitpanda Group. You will serve as the primary contact for supervisory authorities and enable the business to scale product development securely under GDPR and emerging regulatory frameworks.
You will partner with the C-suite, engineering and product teams on privacy for AI, blockchain, and digital assets, own the DPMS, lead audits and DSAR handling, and drive training
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in data protection
- Strategic management in regulatory environments for digital assets and financial services
- Pragmatic problem solver delivering precise, reliable legal advice
- Fluent in English; German at C1 or higher
- Certifications in privacy (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM) advantageous
Responsibilities
- Design and implement the Bitpanda Group's DPMS across international markets
- Liaise with data protection authorities in Europe, UK and UAE
- Provide privacy guidance for AI, blockchain, and product initiatives
- Oversee data protection controls and monitoring; drive remediation of gaps
- Manage DSARs, incidents, DPAs and international data transfers
- Advance privacy training and awareness across the company
