Build AI is recruiting a Data Compliance role to enable aggressive data collection while ensuring legal consent, storage, and usage controls are built into the workflow. The candidate will write and enforce documents covering consent, data retention, and cross-border transfer, and will ensure field practice matches policy across multiple countries.

Qualifications

• You’ve done privacy, employment/contractor, or data-collection compliance in a real operating company.
• You can write the docs and also make them true in the field.
• You treat legal as an enabler of scale, not a brake.
• Fine with in-the-wild physical labor collection and a company moving fast across countries.

Responsibilities

• Write and maintain consent, contractor/worker terms, privacy notices, retention, and cross-border transfer docs.
• Incorporate privacy-by-design into collection paths: consent capture, minimization, retention/deletion, access.
• Unblock scaling by making the collection strategy legal across new countries and setups.
• Work with ops, marketplace, and software so consent and legality are in the product workflow.
• Handle trade and cross-border issues for collection devices and data (US/China/new countries).
• Ensure actual practices match the documents and close gaps when needed.
