Job summary

ByteDance is seeking a self-motivated system engineer with an SRE mindset and DevOps skills to own and improve the reliability of foundational data-center services across global regions. You will manage large-scale Linux host infrastructure, standardize configurations, and monitor fleet health.

You will design deployment architectures, implement high-availability patterns, and drive post-incident analyses to continuously enhance reliability.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in large-scale Linux host management and fleet operations.
• Hands-on knowledge of core data center services: DNS, NTP, DHCP, NAT, and Kerberos.
• Familiarity with SRE principles, SLO/SLI, and post-mortems.
• Experience with DevOps tooling and configuration management.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain large-scale host infrastructure across ByteDance's non-China data centers.
• Own reliability of core services (DNS, NTP, DHCP, NAT, APT repository, Kerberos).
• Design deployment architectures ensuring high availability and disaster recovery.
• Develop and enforce SLOs; lead incident response and RCA/post-mortems.
• Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to meet growth demands.
• Identify automation opportunities to reduce toil and improve efficiency.
