Job summary

Google is seeking a Hardware Operations Manager in Atlanta to lead a team of Data Center Technicians responsible for the installation, configuration, testing and maintenance of server hardware and components. You will oversee complex installations, troubleshoot issues, and drive high-availability operations in a 24x7 environment.

Your leadership will direct cross-functional collaboration, project planning, and contingency development to keep data centers reliable and scalable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience managing technical teams in charge of installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, or maintaining hardware servers and its components.
• Experience in site-level data center operational leadership.
• Experience in a people management, supervision, or team leadership role.
• Experience with different operating systems (e.g. Linux) and developing network architecture.
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends, night shifts, holidays and on shift-based schedules as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage operations staff across non-Google Production facilities to maintain high operational standards.
• Facilitate capacity delivery needs by successfully executing multiple infrastructure projects across different locations.
• Own project delivery timelines, ensuring On-Time Delivery of initiatives while setting and monitoring robust Service Level Objectives.
• Coordinate key stakeholder relationships across internal teams, cross-functional partners, and external vendors to set deliverables and track parallel efforts.
• Identify and mitigate roadblocks by partnering with team members to resolve process bottlenecks and communication breakdowns.
