Job summary

Google's Hardware Operations team is responsible for the state-of-the-art physical infrastructure behind Google's powerful search technology. As a Hardware Operations Manager, you will lead a team of Data Center Technicians and oversee the quality installation of server hardware and components.

You will configure and troubleshoot servers and network components, lead small project teams on installations, and develop contingency plans to keep systems running reliably across data centers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical field.
• 10 years of experience in computing infrastructure, networking, operating systems, or hardware.
• 5 years of experience managing technical, vendor, contract management, or delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Communicate priorities team-wide and facilitate management of operations to following shift leads.
• Work together to identify and resolve problems and create solutions for the global computing and network architecture.
• Manage the implementation of projects within the team and ensure data center-related priorities are consistent with company objectives.
• Oversee the day-to-day management of teams within data center technical hardware operations.
