Job summary

Cytel is seeking an Associate Director, Cybersecurity to lead the global cybersecurity program, build a high-performing team, and drive security strategy across cloud platforms, endpoints, and infrastructure. You will manage budgets, partner with executives, and oversee governance, risk, and security operations.

The role requires hands-on expertise with Azure, Entra ID, M365, and enterprise EDR/XDR/SIEM, plus strong leadership and communication skills to protect data and regulatory compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, or equivalent.
• 8–10 years of progressive cybersecurity experience.
• 2+ years in a professional management role leading cybersecurity professionals.
• Proven incident response and enterprise security operations experience.
• Experience developing security strategies, policies, and roadmaps for a global organization.
• Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and Entra ID (Conditional Access, MFA, PIM, identity protection).
• Experience with enterprise EDR, XDR, SIEM, and threat-hunting.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate risks clearly.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and develop a global cybersecurity team; manage budgets and headcount across time zones.
• Define and own the cybersecurity strategy and multi-year roadmap; align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Develop, enforce, and maintain company-wide information security policies and risk management programs.
• Own the security operations program: monitoring, threat detection, incident response; lead major incidents.
• Set direction for security technology portfolio (CrowdStrike Falcon, Taegis XDR, Defender); manage vendor relationships and SLAs.
• Collaborate with cloud, infra, and engineering leaders to define security architectures for Azure, M365, and Entra ID; set review requirements for new cloud services.
• Oversee vulnerability management with Tenable; set remediation standards and timelines.
• Lead security compliance activities: audits, questionnaires, third-party risk; coordinate with Legal, Privacy, and Compliance.
• Drive security automation and AI-assisted security with governance; use PowerShell, Graph APIs to scale operations.
• Lead security awareness and training; promote a security-conscious culture.
• Report cybersecurity posture and risks to IT and executive leadership; align security priorities with business needs.
• Hold required qualifications and leadership credentials as listed.
