Job summary

KAYAK is seeking a Director of Cybersecurity to lead a global team shaping security strategy across identity, incident response, vulnerability management, and cloud security. You will partner with CISO and engineering to secure our platform while enabling agility and innovation.

The role requires deep security expertise, strong leadership, and hands-on involvement in threat detection, architecture, and governance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in cybersecurity with strong leadership experience.
• Experience building or maturing security programs in complex tech environments.
• Expertise across security domains (SOC, IAM, cloud, app security, etc.).
• Strong Linux, networking, firewalls, and Kubernetes skills.
• Familiarity with NIST CSF, CIS, SOC 2, PCI-DSS.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the security strategy, roadmap, and operating model with leadership alignment.
• Lead and mentor a global team of security engineers across disciplines.
• Oversee threat detection, response, vulnerability management, and endpoint security.
• Embed security into engineering, infrastructure, and product development.
• Manage vendor relationships and security tooling budgets.
• Support hiring, onboarding, and career development for the team.
• Explore AI and automation to improve security operations.
• Evaluate emerging threats and AI implications.
