Job summary

Nexterus Inc. is hiring a Customs Entry Specialist for international freight forwarding.

Based in the Newark area, you will manage import/export entry tasks, coordinate multiple stakeholders, and ensure regulatory compliance to support efficient customs releases and on-time deliveries. Your background includes at least five years in import/export entry services, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent level of training or experience.
• Relevant experience in a Customer Service role or equivalent skill set.
• Basic knowledge of Customs rules/regulations regarding the Import & Export of freight.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining a positive attitude, organization of work and superior customer service.
• Computer literacy, with proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Proficiency in mathematics
• Knowledge of world geography.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating, tracking, verifying, and reporting status of international transportation, following through to final delivery.
• Communicating with all necessary parties accurately and in a timely manner.
• Compiling and validating all necessary documentation to complete Customs Entry.
• Following through to Customs release and follow all OGA’s that would pertain to the specific commodity insuring compliance.
• Prioritize, schedule, and route shipments international shipments from their origin to final destination.
• Gather, review, and verify international transportation related documentation.
• Prepare quotations and coordinate documentation between customers, vendors, forwarders, and brokers.
• Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and operational proficiency to meet growth and profitability goals.
