Job summary

ESChat, a Dallas-based company, seeks a Corporate Controller to lead finance and accounting operations from a home office with occasional in-person collaboration and travel to HQ in San Luis Obispo, CA. The role requires deep US GAAP/IFRS knowledge, intercompany and auditing oversight, and liaison to JVCKENWOOD’s corporate headquarters in Japan.

You will manage monthly closes, treasury, tax, and ensure compliance across entities during an aggressive growth phase after acquisition.

Qualifications

• BS in Accounting; MBA or CPA preferred.
• 10+ years of accounting experience, with 5+ years in a high-tech environment.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and IFRS; ERP proficiency (NetSuite/QuickBooks).
• Self-starter with ability to meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the accounting team to ensure timely close, treasury management, and tax compliance.
• Ensure revenue and expense recognition aligns with relevant guidelines and corporate policies.
• Coordinate monthly intercompany reconciliations with affiliated entities and interface with HQ in Japan.
• Monitor cash flow, update projections, and advise executive leadership on financial strategy.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and tax authorities.
