Job summary

Medal is seeking a Global Controller to own US accounting, reporting and compliance end-to-end—from day-to-day bookkeeping to GAAP calls, tax filings and audits. You’ll lead month‑end close, automate workflows, coordinate auditors across jurisdictions, and ensure tight internal controls while moving fast in a high‑growth startup.

Qualifications

• Own the general ledger, month/quarter/year-end close with US GAAP accuracy and strong controls.
• Lead US federal/state taxes plus international tax planning and filings across multi-entity structures.
• Oversee payroll compliance, filings, and PEO/provider relationships.
• Manage audits, prepare financial statements, investor updates and due diligence artifacts.
• Design and automate scalable finance processes across accounting, billing and reporting using AI tooling.
• 10–15 years in Big 4/public accounting with deep US GAAP and international tax experience.
• Bonus: proven ability to stand up a finance function from scratch.

Responsibilities

• Own GL and close processes end-to-end with accuracy and strong internal controls.
• Coordinate tax filings and transfer pricing across jurisdictions; work with external advisors.
• Oversee payroll taxes and filings, ensuring compliance.
• Lead timely audits, prepare FS, and support investor communications.
• Drive automation of finance workflows across accounting, billing and reporting.
• Provide leadership in a fast-paced startup environment with keen attention to detail.
