Job summary

Brivo, Inc. is seeking a Compliance Engineer in Austin to lead global product compliance efforts for hardware across our portfolio. You will define market-access strategies, partner with engineering teams, and manage relationships with testing laboratories and NRTLs.

You will drive safety certifications (UL, MET, ETL, CSA, TÜV) and apply IEC/UL/CSA 62368-1 hazard-based safety engineering, while coordinating CE, FCC, ISED, and CB Scheme processes for regions worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, or related field (or equivalent).
• 7+ years in product compliance, regulatory engineering, or product safety certification for hardware/electronics.
• Hands-on experience obtaining NRTL certifications (UL, MET, ETL, CSA, TÜV).
• Strong knowledge of CE, FCC, ISED, and international market-access procedures.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, PCB layouts, mechanical drawings, and specs.
• Proven ability to manage multiple certification projects, budgets, and schedules.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Develop global compliance strategies and country-by-country certification matrices.
• Lead safety certifications with NRTLs (UL, MET, Intertek/ETL, CSA, TÜV).
• Manage CE marking, UKCA, CB Scheme across North America, LATAM, APAC, EMEA.
• Coordinate emissions/immunity testing and global radio approvals for Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, cellular, and NFC modules.
• Direct RoHS, REACH, WEEE, Prop 65 compliance programs with cross-functional teams.
• Translate regulatory standards into actionable design requirements during architecture.
