Job description

Work Arrangement:

This role is categorized as hybrid. The successful candidate is expected to report to either the Mountain View (CA) or Warren (MI) office at least three times per week.

The Role:

As part of GM's Human Resources Group, this Compensation Consultant will be responsible for implementing and communicating our Software & Services compensation programs. You will serve as a business liaison to HR partners and develop offers for external candidates in our Software & Services division. Additionally, you will continuously evaluate our programs to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency.

Responsibilities:
  1. Partner with field HR, Talent Acquisition, and other compensation teams on various projects.
  2. Analyze current processes, identify trends, and prepare data for review.
  3. Develop external candidate rewards offers following GM's processes.
  4. Collaborate effectively with Talent Acquisition, field HR, and leadership to attract talent for GM’s Software & Services group.
  5. Educate HR on compensation philosophy, data, and GM practices.
  6. Partner with global compensation operations to ensure seamless solutions and support the annual compensation process from design to implementation.
  7. Refine and optimize compensation processes to support business needs efficiently.
  8. Create tools and support materials, such as education resources and templates, for compensation decisions.
  9. Develop and deliver standard compensation training for leaders, new hires, and others as needed.
  10. Handle complex issues requiring conceptual thinking, originality, and application of principles to achieve results.
  11. Understand the interrelationships of design implementations and their implications.
  12. Assist in benchmarking salary and pay ranges globally to ensure competitiveness.
  13. Advise on pay practices to attract and retain talent aligned with company objectives.
  14. Manage multiple projects concurrently.
  15. Use data to develop insights and recommendations for compensation issues.
  16. Collaborate with the global Rewards team to provide guidance on compensation analysis and support business strategy.
