Job summary

Meridian is seeking a motivated Intern in Global Communications & Journalism to help produce written and multimedia content for digital and print channels. The role emphasizes content marketing, branding, and social campaigns while providing exposure to data analytics, design, video production, and nonprofit operations.

The internship is based in Washington, D.C., with partial remote options and a requirement for MD, DC, or VA residency.

Qualifications

  • Superior writing, editing and proofreading skills with knowledge of AP style.
  • Excellent storyteller with the ability to curate, create, write, edit and publish multimedia content.
  • Ability to identify stories with viral potential and analyze data to accelerate digital engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Generate original content for website, blog, newsletters and social media.
  • Storyboard and edit short videos for social distribution and newsletters.
  • Curate news and stories relevant to Meridian’s mission for social platforms.
  • Support live event coverage including photography and videography.
  • Complete administrative responsibilities in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned
