Job description

Drives corporate-wide strategy for communications, corporate branding, stakeholder engagement, and reputation management. Works with senior leaders in the legal, finance, operations, human resources, and government relations functions to promote our company, its issues, and its ideals. Is responsible for crafting powerful, memorable messages, protecting and extending Century’s reputation and interests, and ensuring that our corporate goals are broadly supported by a robust communication vision across Corporate and operating locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Creates, implements and manages long-term internal and external communications and advocacy strategies that effectively describe and promote the organization, its issues and its ideals.
  • Directs the branding and promotion of the company and industry within the communities in which the company operates.
  • Provide direct writing and messaging support to senior leaders.
  • Manage outside agencies and vendors to ensure the production of creative, high-quality, cost-effective communication solutions (e.g., policy briefs, press releases and media statements, and presentations)
  • Partner with Human Resources to align employee communications and messaging to corporate strategy and objectives
  • Provide broad leadership for the company’s online presence
  • Maintain relationships with key reporters and media agencies, proactively identify media opportunities, and organize public relations events
  • Provide strategic communications and stakeholder support for government relations, community, and other key external constituencies.
  • Lead multi-location communications across Corporate and operating locations, balancing tactical execution with strategic alignment.
  • Serve as a communications advisor to international teams, providing guidance and coordination across global operations.
  • Continue developing the Corporate Communications function and provide direction to onsite communications teams.
  • Lead crisis communications and reputation management efforts.
  • Drive initiatives through influence, collaboration, and consensus in a matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrate agility and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities effectively.
  • Perform other duties and lead additional initiatives as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in related field, Master's degree preferred
  • Experience: 5+ Years corporate, preferred 10+ Years corporate or agency
  • Management: 10+ Years, preferred 15+ years
  • Manufacturing: none, preferred 3+ years or B2B
  • Other Preferred: Experience with US manufacturing sector and the Midwest and Southern US; Superlative writing skills, including the ability to craft powerful, engaging, and broadly accessible messages; Public company experience preferred; Agility and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; Strong digital communications expertise, including analytics and measurement
