Job summary

Ontic is seeking a Global Commodity Specialist to join our global sourcing team. The role reports to the Global Commodity Senior Manager and supports strategic sourcing initiatives across Ontic’s global operations with a flexible remote work structure.

You will drive end‑to‑end RFx processes, manage supplier relationships, and develop global commodity strategies aligned with business goals. Travel approximately 30% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, business, or related field.
• 3–7 years in strategic sourcing, procurement, commodity management, or supply chain within manufacturing. Aerospace & Defense experience preferred.
• Experience managing RFx processes (RFIs, RFQs, RFPs).
• Strong supplier negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Strong analytical capabilities with cost analysis, PPV, VA/VE, or should-cost analysis.
• Understanding of contract management principles, commercial terms, and supplier agreements.
• Knowledge of global supply markets, commodity dynamics, and supply chain risk.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and their impact on sourcing and supplier selection.
• Experience monitoring supplier performance across quality, delivery, cost, and service metrics.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or comparable platforms.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Power BI or similar data analysis tools.
• Knowledge of Aerospace & Defense regulatory requirements (ITAR/EAR) preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication across a global organization.
• Ability to manage multiple sourcing projects and priorities and travel ~30%.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute strategic sourcing projects under the Global Commodity Senior Manager.
• Manage end‑to‑end RFx processes from supplier identification to award recommendations.
• Support global sourcing initiatives including supplier consolidation and license support.
• Ensure activities align with global commodity strategies and business objectives.
• Identify cost‑reduction opportunities through PPV, VA/VE, should‑cost analyses, and negotiation.
• Support development and management of global supplier agreements.
• Manage contract lifecycle activities including pricing updates and compliance tracking.
• Coordinate with legal and supply chain risk objectives.
• Develop understanding of global commodity markets and pricing trends.
• Provide market intelligence and supplier performance insights to stakeholders.
• Support refinement of global commodity strategies and supplier reviews.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain across sites.
• Serve as interface between Global Sourcing and site stakeholders for deployment.
• Apply data analytics to support supplier selection and strategy development.
