Job summary

Horton, Inc. in Roseville, MN is seeking a Commodity Manager to lead global commodity strategies and manage the full sourcing lifecycle—from market analysis and spend segmentation to contract negotiation and risk management.

You will partner with manufacturing, operations and leadership to optimize supplier portfolios, drive TCO reductions, manage supplier relationships, and ensure supply continuity; domestic and international travel up to 20% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, preferred in Supply Chain Management, Operations or Engineering.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management, or procurement with regional/global categories of spend.
• Proven capability in supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, and strategic supplier relationship management.
• Advanced proficiency in developing multi-year commodity roadmaps, spend segmentation, supplier capability mapping, and portfolio rationalization.
• Ability to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States. No Visa sponsorship provided now or in the future for this position.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute multi-year global/regional commodity strategies, establishing sourcing levers, roadmaps, and financial benefits.
• Expand and optimize the Approved Supplier List (ASL) using spend segmentation and portfolio rationalization.
• Evaluate commodity maturity, cost drivers, market dynamics, and spend data to identify opportunities and benchmark competitiveness.
• Drive cross-functional initiatives to reduce Total Cost of Ownership through strategic partnerships and design optimization.
• Deliver annual cost-saving and productivity goals using negotiations, VA/VE, and continuous improvement projects.
• Establish and oversee the Supplier Relationship Management framework and scorecards.
• Lead QBRs and executive supplier summits; maintain supplier profiles and risk matrices.
• Foster strategic supplier partnerships to enhance operational alignment and growth.
• Manage vendor selection and procurement processes, negotiate terms, oversee agreements.
• Identify, monitor and mitigate supply chain vulnerabilities and regulatory compliance.
• Partner with manufacturing to monitor supplier capacity and prevent disruptions.
• Resolve material shortages, quality issues, or bottlenecks rapidly.
• Monitor market trends and forecast cost fluctuations.
