Job summary

REALM is seeking a Network Operations Engineer to join our global cloud infrastructure team. This fully remote role focuses on diagnosing and resolving live customer network issues, with emphasis on BGP, VxLAN, EVPN and cloud networking in VPCs and Direct Connect.

You will work with customers to onboard BYO-BGP, investigate incidents end-to-end, and contribute to automation to prevent reoccurrence, while improving network performance across data centers worldwide.

Qualifications

• 1-2+ years hands-on BGP including internet-scale routing and peering policies
• Understanding of VxLAN and EVPN
• Linux administration including kernel routing and FRR/Bird
• Cloud networking experience — VPCs, Direct Connect, IPsec
• Proactive mindset and customer-focused troubleshooting

Responsibilities

• Onboard BYO-BGP setups with customers and troubleshoot performance across the physical network and customer VPCs
• Investigate network events to identify root causes and implement end-to-end fixes
• Write and test maintenance procedures to prevent customer impact
• Collaborate on automation to resolve issues quickly
• Troubleshoot across any layer of the stack
