Job summary

Populous is a global design firm seeking a Cloud Engineer with 5+ years of experience in AWS and/or Azure to join our IT team. You will design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure cloud infrastructure across multi-cloud environments.

Collaborate with Digital teams, support cloud migration, and uphold best practices in security and reliability. Proficiency with AWS CDK (TypeScript) and CI/CD pipelines is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
• 5+ years of experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms.
• Hands-on cloud networking experience (VPC/VNets, subnets, routing).
• Experience configuring firewalls and security controls (Palo Alto, AWS Security Groups, NACLs, Azure NSGs).
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools and securing cloud connectivity (VPNs, hybrid networking).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).

Responsibilities

• Designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure in AWS and Azure environments.
• Architecting secure networks and connectivity (VPCs, VNets, subnets, routing).
• Configuring firewalls and security controls across environments.
• Maintaining infrastructure-as-code (AWS CDK, TypeScript) and proposing improvements.
• Monitoring performance, availability, and security with cloud-native tools.
• Supporting cloud migration strategies and hybrid cloud architecture.
