Job summary

Generac Power Systems seeks a Senior Cybersecurity leader (CISO) to drive a multi-year security roadmap across IT, OT, and product security. You will partner with the CIO, executive team, and Board to reduce cyber risk while enabling business growth in a Fortune 500 industrial environment.

You will build and scale global security teams, oversee governance, incident response, and regulatory compliance, and ensure secure development lifecycle practices across connected energy platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with focus in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field.
• 15 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, with at least 10 years in senior security leadership roles.
• Experience leading cybersecurity in industrial, manufacturing, or complex global environments.
• Experience presenting to Boards and executive leadership on cyber risk and incidents.
• Knowledge of NIST CSF, ISO 27001, IEC 62443, MITRE ATT&CK, and SEC cybersecurity disclosure requirements.

Responsibilities

• Defines and executes a multi-year enterprise cybersecurity strategy and roadmap aligned to business objectives.
• Serve as the senior-most cybersecurity executive, advising the CIO and Board on risk posture and investments.
• Owns product security program for connected products and embedding secure by design practices.
• Lead PSIRT, vulnerability disclosure, and regulatory compliance across product security.
• Oversee IT/OT convergence, governance, and incident response readiness across global operations.
• Direct security operations center, threat intelligence, and vulnerability management with external partners.
