Job summary

Generac seeks a Director of Cybersecurity Operations to lead global security operations and engineering, reporting to the CISO. Based onsite at our corporate headquarters in Waukesha, WI, you will shape the security program, drive modernization through automation, SOAR, and AI-driven security solutions, and partner with service providers.

You will build and mentor high-performing teams, oversee incident response, SIEM telemetry, threat detection, and governance, while delivering measurable risk

Qualifications

• 10 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity with at least 5 years in security operations, incident response, or security engineering.
• Experience leading global teams spanning engineering and operations disciplines.
• Experience directing enterprise incident response and coordinating with external partners and executives.
• Experience managing XDR, MSSP, or managed detection and response providers.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership of the global security operations center and establish a maturity roadmap.
• Own the enterprise Incident Response strategy, including playbooks, exercises, and executive communications.
• Mature SOAR capabilities to automate triage, enrichment and response actions.
• Lead Cybersecurity Engineering for endpoint, network, cloud, identity, and email security.
• Own telemetry strategy for SIEM, ensuring data sources, parsing, enrichment and retention.
• Translate threat intelligence into high-quality detections mapped to MITRE ATT&CK.
• Govern vendor performance and service levels with external partners.
• Build and mentor high-performing global teams with clear procedures and training.
• Define operational metrics for executive audiences and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with governance, product security, and regional leaders to align security operations.
