Job summary

ByteDance in San Jose is seeking a software engineer to help develop and optimize the global Multi-Cloud CDN scheduling platform and build traffic optimization across self-built and commercial CDN infrastructures to improve performance and cost efficiency.

You will contribute to cost optimization projects, build and improve metrics and monitoring tooling, and participate in traffic analysis, performance optimization, and continuous improvement of scheduling stability and traffic efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or related discipline.
• Familiar with at least one programming language such as Go, Python, Java, or C/C++.
• Solid foundation in data structures, operating systems, computer networks, and databases.
• Basic understanding of Internet technologies such as HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP, load balancing, caching, traffic routing, or Linux.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and interest in large-scale traffic systems.

Minimum Qualifications

• Individuals who are completing or have recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline.
• Familiar with at least one programming language such as Go, Python, Java, or C/C++.
• Solid foundation in data structures, operating systems, computer networks, and databases.
• Basic understanding of Internet technologies such as HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP, load balancing, caching, traffic routing, or Linux.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and interest in large-scale traffic systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with backend development, networking, CDN, traffic scheduling, load balancing, or distributed systems is a plus.
• Experience with data analysis, metrics systems, monitoring platforms, optimization projects, or automation tools is a plus.
• Familiarity with SQL, Python-based analysis, visualization tools, or time-series metrics is a plus.
• Good communication skills, ownership, and collaborative mindset.
