Job summary

ByteDance is seeking data-driven engineers to join the Global Engineering CDN team in Seattle. You will work on a highly available, multi-cloud platform, building data pipelines, dashboards, and analytics to optimize performance, cost, and reliability.

You will collaborate across software development and production operations, implement ETL, data models, and quality checks, and contribute to scalable CDN data systems in a fast-growing tech company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or related discipline.
• Familiar with Python, Go, Java, or Scala.
• Solid foundation in data structures, databases, OS, and distributed systems concepts.
• Familiar with SQL and data processing concepts.
• Strong analytical thinking and data quality sensitivity.

• Participate in development and improvement of the global Multi-Cloud CDN data platform.
• Build and maintain data pipelines, data models, dashboards, and data quality mechanisms.
• Support data needs for CDN product operations, business analysis, cost optimization, and governance.

About the TeamByteDance's Global Engineering CDN team builds and operates a highly available, cost-efficient, and high-performance global multi-cloud CDN platform that powers large-scale products such as TikTok. Our platform integrates both self-built CDN infrastructure and commercial CDN vendors across multiple regions worldwide, delivering reliable and optimized content delivery for diverse global markets. The team develops and operates core platform capabilities including domain onboarding and configuration management, content management, data analytics, and global traffic optimization. Working in a highly distributed and complex environment, we continuously evolve the platform to support both static content delivery and dynamic acceleration, while optimizing for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency. Engineers in this team work across both software development and production operations, gaining hands-on experience with large-scale distributed systems, global traffic management, and multi-cloud infrastructure. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Individuals who are completing or have recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Electronic Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics or a related discipline.
• Familiar with at least one programming language such as Python, Go, Java, or Scala.
• Solid foundation in data structures, databases, operating systems, and basic distributed systems concepts.
• Familiar with SQL and basic data processing concepts.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and sensitivity to data quality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data modeling, ETL, data pipelines, data quality systems, or data visualization is a plus.
• Experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Flink, Hive, Kafka, ClickHouse, Doris, or similar systems is a plus.
• Experience with backend development, metrics systems, BI dashboards, or cost analysis is a plus.
• Interest in CDN, cloud infrastructure, network data, business analytics, or cost optimization is a plus.
