Job summary

BDA is seeking a strategic Category/Supplier Director to enhance business success and drive continuous improvement. You’ll collaborate with sales, product development, merchandising, and sourcing leadership to execute global procurement plans and maximize profitability.

The role requires navigating complex negotiations, leading future-state transformations, and building strong supplier relationships across teams to deliver measurable value.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management
• Strong contract negotiations and executive communication
• Experience with supplier compliance and regulatory requirements
• P&L ownership/experience and leadership capabilities

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional efforts to implement category and supplier growth strategies with executive alignment
• Build and mentor a high-performing sourcing team
• Analyze trends, market opportunities, and consumer data to optimize assortments and profitability
• Develop strategic procurement initiatives aligned with consumer demand and industry changes
• Negotiate and improve vendor contracts to enhance BDA outcomes
• Oversee annual exclusive vendor tradeshow and vendor lifecycle risk management
