Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC is seeking a global category sourcing leader to support business and engineering stakeholders in selecting, developing and managing relationships with critical technology and service suppliers for Leo.

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of strategic sourcing, strong negotiation and cross-functional collaboration skills, and a track record of delivering cost reductions while ensuring quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related technical field.
  • Experience working effectively across cross-functional teams and coaching junior staff.
  • 4+ years of strategic sourcing including vendor negotiations, global contract management, process improvement, and financial analysis.
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Advanced Excel, SQL, Tableau, Python.
  • Experience managing machined parts, optics, wire harnesses, valves, motors, battery, hardware components, or equivalent technical commodities.
  • Experience using multiple ERP or other procurement tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for hardware and other technical commodities.
  • Drive hardware delivery through product life cycle from requirements to on-dock.
  • Analyze industry trends and technology to identify cost-reduction and risk mitigation projects.
  • Influence supplier manufacturing processes and decisions for mutual benefit.
  • Lead cross-functional projects to meet commitments and objectives.
  • Perform financial modeling for large deals and supplier negotiations.
  • Monitor supplier performance including quality, on-time delivery, and costs.
  • Ensure orders are released on schedule to meet production needs.
  • Lead cross-functional meetings with clear notes and action tracking.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Amazon Leo team is looking for a global category sourcing leader to support business and engineering stakeholders in selecting, developing and managing business relationships with critical technology and service suppliers, and others as needed to execute on Leo's objectives.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Prior experience in supply chain procuring machined parts, optics, harnessing, valves, motors, battery, hardware, or equivalent technical commodities
  • A successful track record developing and executing sourcing strategies, negotiating agreements and statements of work
  • Drive hardware delivery through the product life cycle from requirements development to on-dock (on time at the right quality and cost)
  • Analyze industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify and execute projects that reduce cost, mitigate supply chain risks, protect continuity of supply, and exploit industry developments that benefit customers
  • Influence suppliers' manufacturing processes, technology decisions, and policies in ways that are mutually beneficial and sustainable for both organizations
  • Manage cross-functional projects against plans and objectives to meet commitments and goals
  • Drive financial modeling of large and complex deals
  • Evaluate and monitor critical supplier performance, including financial health, quality, on-time delivery, and cost
  • Ensure orders are released and on schedule to meet needs of the production system
  • Effectively lead cross-functional meetings with clear document writing, agenda creation, note capture and follow-up activity coordination
  • Travel as needed (domestic & international)

Basic Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related technical field
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma methodologies

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
