Job summary

The Emerald Group seeks a strategic leader to oversee catastrophe modeling across its insurance and reinsurance operations in the United States. Reporting to the Group CUO, you will drive risk analytics into underwriting, pricing, capital allocation, and long-term risk management.

You will lead model development, validation, and integration of climate and emerging risk insights, while advancing AI and big data analytics to support business decisions and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of catastrophe modeling experience in insurance or reinsurance.
• Proven leadership in cross-functional teams and strategic initiatives.
• Expertise with RMS and AIR modeling platforms.
• Knowledge of climate modeling and emerging risk analysis.
• Certifications (FCAS, ACAS, CERA) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead catastrophe modeling across insurance and reinsurance operations.
• Define and execute modeling strategies to support underwriting, pricing, and capital planning.
• Partner with senior leadership to translate modeling insights into business objectives.
• Oversee model development, validation, and enhancement using latest advances.
• Incorporate climate risk and emerging risk models into existing frameworks.
• Drive innovation through AI, machine learning, and big data analytics.
