Job summary

Alfa Laval Corporate AB in Richmond, VA seeks a Buyer/Planner to determine material quantities and dates per the master production schedule, working with international suppliers on strategic planning methods. The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in supply chain management and 1+ years of buying/planning experience, with MRP system knowledge and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or similar.
• 1+ years of experience in buying/planning.
• Knowledge of purchasing materials, scheduling and delivery, inventory and forecasting.
• Working knowledge of MRP systems.
• Interest in Domestic and International Supply Chains.
• Ability to prioritize projects and manage workload.
• Strong time management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze quotes, select or recommend suppliers, and schedule deliveries.
• Plan for and purchase materials per the master production schedule.
• Monitor and adjust work in progress, schedules, and delivery to meet customer requirements.
• Ensure material availability through inventory monitoring and supplier follow-up.
• Support development and implementation of strategic production planning methodologies.
• Analyze inventory values and reduce excess/obsolete stock.
• Monitor supplier forecasting systems and PSA terms.
• Support supplier development per Alfa Laval toolbox.
